Sad but happy goodbye as I prepare rabbits for their trip to their new owners in OR and CA
I'm so excited! These rabbits in addition to PJ, a standard chinchilla buck, get to go to their new homes in Oregon and California in about a week! These animals are going to do wonders for the purchaser's herds. So happy to help a standard chinchilla breeder down in California get a jump start as well. :) The jersey wooly and the standard chinchillas have been huge parts of my herd and its tough to see them go. Its also tough to see the new zealands go as well, because these very well may be the best new zealands we have ever produced!

Cocoa Crazy has been in my chocolate program for a while now. She has sired many great litters and has expanded my chocolate program considerably. Cocoa crazy is a great mom. Her good structure is passed down to her offspring and she has nice length of body and solid shoulders and hind quarters.

Peoria is a very hard rabbit to let go of. Her value in my breeding program has been incredible. Peoria's body is beautiful. Gorgeous depth, a beautiful hindquarter, shoulders and midsection. She has produced many wonderful litters that are now producing offspring of their own. She is a very good mother and has litters of 6-8 kits. She has a wonderful dense coat roll back coat. Her ring definition is good and passes on great ring definition and surface color to her kits. I will be sad to see her go, she has been a wonderful rabbit in my breeding program.

He also has very balanced body width and a nice strong shoulder and hindquarter to the table. I love this buck!

Rabbits For Sale available to be transported to ARBA Convention in FortWorth, TX!

Hey Everyone,
Here is the available rabbits that are for sale and are available to be transported to the 2014 ARBA Convention in Fort Worth, TX. For those interested in having rabbits transported, transport is being provided by QAF Rabbitry and a transport fee of $40 applies to each animal which includes cooping at the show.
We have not had the opportunity to attend many shows this last year, so these breeding animals have not had the chance to pick up legs, but that doesn't lessen their quality any! Also many of these rabbits are molting in their pictures, keep that in mind when looking at coat length :)

Spector is yet another buck that has jump started my breeding program. He is a very well structured buck, but my favorite quality is his density and length of coat. He has a nice wide head, a good shoulder and a good topline. He has sired some great offspring as well and I have kept many that are now producing offspring of their own. He would be a great addition to a Self, Tan Pattern or AOV program.

She has great qualities including her solid body structure, great coat (when not molting), and a beautiful head.

Polar Bug is beautifully patterned doe. She has a nice clean pattern, beautiful texture and density to her coat. She has a good head and a good solid structure. She is a great mom. Usually has a litter of 2-3 and produces well marked brokens, never with too little of color. The solid patterned kits of hers have always had appropriate nail color and never a white nail to be found. She has been a barn favorite and it will be sad to see her leave.

Dalmatian is just as nice as his sister. He has sired many great offspring that we have kept. He is short, cobby, has great surface color, good intermediate brightness and clarity and a good base color. He would be a great herd buck for anyone needing some new bloodlines.

Murdock is a great buck. He has a good topline and good width of body. He has sired a few litters, but I haven't used him much because we have been so buck heavy with so many options. The offspring I have kept from him have been very nice and he is a good producer. He has a good brightness to his intermediate band and a very dark base color. He is molting horribly in this picture and his surface color is much more even when he his in a finished coat.

Rainbow is a solid doe. Great topline, very wide, and great depth of body. She has good brightness to her intermediate band, good dark base color and good ring definition (she is molting in this picture). She would be a great rabbit to augment a breeding program.

He has very nice ear shape and has passed on great substance of ears and shape to his offspring. He has great length of wool and good density. He is molting in this picture, but has an even black color when finished out. He hasn't been to many shows, but could easily hold his own on the table. His value to a breeding program is incredible, and I didn't think I would ever let him leave the barn, but I would like to see him do the same that he has for my breeding program.

She has good brightness to her intermediate band, good dark base color and good ring definition (she is molting in this picture). She would be a great rabbit to augment a breeding program.

Penny is showing great promise. She has great surface color for a junior and her base color is nice and deep. Her intermediate band color is showing great brightness. Penny has great width and depth of body, in addition to having a nice short cobby body. Penny is a very promising junior!

Mystery is a very promising doe. She is one of the does I am literally splitting hairs between each rabbit in this litter as they are all very nice animals. I would easily be keeping her, but just don't have the cage space to keep 3 does from this litter. She has great structure and is very balanced. I am surely going to regret letting this lady go.

Marvel is a very smooth buck. He is very promising and is growing great! He has great structure and a nice full hindquarter. Marvel has a good topline and balances well with is body depth and width.

Kia is a very well filled doe. She has a very nice loin and a good topline. She has good width to depth balance. She is a young intermediate, but is showing good growth. Kia has great texture and density to her coat as well. She has a good shoulders, midsection and hind quarters. Kia would be a great addition to a white breeding program :)

Hundai is an awesome doe! I love her! She is super deep, super wide, great shoulders, midsection and hind quarter. I love this doe! Beautiful topline and a great addition to any breeding program. Nuff Said!

This buck is my absolute favorite! He has been an amazing asset to my herd and has produced many fantastic offspring. Black Magic is super cobby and is round everywhere. He has very nice ear shape and has passed on great substance of ears and shape to his offspring. He has great length of wool and good density. He is molting in this picture, but has an even black color when finished out. He hasn't been to many shows, but could easily hold his own on the table. His value to a breeding program is incredible, and I didn't think I would ever let him leave the barn, but I would like to see him do the same that he has for my breeding program.

Jenny is a cute and very promising little otter doe. She is a natural poser and is very typey. She has a very nice short cobby body with great depth and width for a junior. Jenny has a very promising head and ears and she is has great ear carriage to boot. Has very clean markings and good junior density to her junior coat. I'm gonna regret letting this little girl leave the barn.

Updates!!!!!
Sorry we have been so lax in updating the M an' M Rabbitry blog!!!!!!! Things have been incredibly busy and lots of stuff has happened in the Rabbitry!
We have been focusing our attention on updating our Facebook and Twitter pages, and now we have finally gotten back to our blog!!!!

Baby bunnies on the way!
So at this point, the next round of does to kindle are nearing their due date. All of them have nestboxes in place with lots of hay to keep all of those newborn babies warm in this cold cold weather. Thats not to say that all are nesting like they should be though, there seems to be a few duds in every round, but lets hope for the best.

You know a rabbit is fat when...
When they have rolls on their rolls! M an' M's Peridot, another one of the M an' M Dud rabbits, who gets bred, but then never kindles is one such example. I believe she may have a little bit of fat build up around her ovaries, preventing her from getting pregnant. What do you think?

Nesting Divas!

Enumclaw Show Report Delivered in the Mail
I was happy to see my show report from the Enumclaw, WA show November 12th, 2011 show up in my mail. This was the show I was unable to attend due to my incident hitting black ice. The buns however still made it to the show and did quite well. I was surprised to see 6 legs in my show report and finally be able to see how well my rabbits did.

Its a good day when....
That rabbit that has been bred several times, is a wonderful show rabbit, but has never produced, nor nested, is actually nesting in preparation for kindling. I am SO excited. Tonight M an' M's Beattle Bug decided that today was the day to start nesting in preparation for her due date next week. I am so excited at the thoughts of finally getting some babies out of her. I was very shocked to say the least when she started gathering hay in her mouth and not just munching it as normal. She was obviously trying to get my attention, as I was not going to give her any hay this evening, so she decided to start ripping up the cardboard divider between her cage and another rabbit. She typically doesn't engage in such behavior and is rather timid. But because didn't want her chewing the entire divider up, I gave her a handful of hay. Good thing I did, or I would have never known! I am also glad I had my camera out at the barn to snap a video. Here it is:

I can't wait to see if she kindles! This is the rabbit that has a WONDERFUL coat, looks beautiful, but refuses to eat anywhere besides her cage. This makes going to shows difficult, as she looses condition fast, and makes traveling and showing at ARBA Convention an almost impossibility. She is definitely one of the divas in the barn (can't forget M an' M's Queen of Cartoons, the original Diva, she wrote the book on how to be a princess, and even taught other rabbits on the way to Convention how to be Divas). Regardless, I am happy that I might be able to finally get some little Beattle Bug babies! Luckily I have bred several other does so I will have the option to foster her kits if the whole first time mommy thing doesn't work out. I will keep everyone posted on her progress! Cross your fingers! Now if only M an' M's Peridot could take a hint...LOL

Sometimes I wonder what are bunnies thinking?
You have to wonder...what do rabbits think about, and what do you think this rabbit was trying to achieve? This is one of M an' M's Under the Cover of Night's kits, who is conveniently blocking the food dish, while sitting on to of another kit in the process. This little ruby eye white kit has turned out to be quite the character. The black kit underneath, had no desire to move and just stayed, smooshed in the crock while the rew sat on him. Crazy bunnies.
